Re: Copy Path + Name as Text (Alt+Insert) enhancements

The family of `Copy ... as Text` actions under `Edit` menu does not work as expected when multiple files are selected. If a selection is present in current pane (red rows) it would be very handy if all names/path+names are copied on separate lines in the clipboard. Why would you expect the format t...

Re: Bug in date/time change of file

There is no problem in Altap Salamander concerning this. Just checked again on Win10 x64 local NTFS disk; never experienced any problem setting time in AS on any OS, any filesystem. Using AS for many years (about 16 or so). Rember though: Files seen from the other side of a DST time jump (forward or...

Forward slashes a path separator

Forward slashes '/' have always been accepted by the Windows kernel. I don't know how widely it is supported, but generally it works just fine. (On the command line you usually need to quote a path containing forward slashes, and are dependent on how the called program interprets it's parameters.) H...

Re: Wrong file icons in the window

Hi Peter,

please check your settings on the configuration page "Laufwerke" (Drives ?)

Sometimes refreshing the panel (Ctrl+F9) helps.

Also try to disable icon overlays in the configuration and see if that helps.

Re: Altap Salamander on Windows 8.1 - Compatibility Mode

Actually in this case it is not hard. That dialog comes from the application itself, obviously I cant say what exactly makes them show it but it would appear something in the version information returned by the system bothers them. It is like a website which queries the browser version and, for com...

Re: Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data

So, is there anything wrong with the result returned? Do those files exist or do they not. If those files exist, someone or something probably made a mistake. It is likely those are not supposed to be there. But Salamander truthfully reported what is there. If those file are not really there, please...

Re: No files are matching in Batch Rename

... and there's something more: in the Search for box you enter a string, not a file mask. Since '*' is illegal as a file name character, there is no chance anything was renamed using your setup. If you indeed need a search pattern in the Search box, you will need to use regular expression syntax an...

Re: my company network drives no longer show (upgraded to Windows 10)

Hi,

You can find an explanation for why this happens at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3035277.

The remedy given there might, or might not work in your case, depending on how your VPN software interacts with your system.

Re: reporting incorrect remaining space

By the way, did you notice there is a "Yes" button on the dialog as a response to the question "Do you want to continue?" Salamander does not use the initially calculated free space during copying. If the space indeed is running out, the remote system will report a write failure....

Re: Hide deleted files

These are probably hidden rather than deleted files, i.e. they have the hidden file attribute set. These files usually are temporary files. E.g MS Office creates one like this alongside the original document whenever you open a document. You can hide/unhide them using the shortcut Ctrl+H. You can co...

Re: False Directory Seen with 7-zip Plugin

Hi therube What did you actually do with the downloaded file? The file I downloaded to contains one file, which is an (Inno Setup) installer .exe named awgg-0.5.0-win32.exe. I used both, AS 2.54 and 7-Zip 9.20 / 15.14 and none of them find the files you got. Looks more like this is the contents of a...

Re: Batch Renaming and Filter

Hi Thomas, this only happens when the filter is active in the panel from which you launch the renamer plugin. This is exactly what I would expect to happen. Otherwise I might rename unexpected files, because I did not see them in the panel I came from, that is, the set of files I usually want to pro...

Re: Shift+click to expand Text Viewer selection

Yes, I second that. Many times I had been waiting with the mouse button pressed, until the viewer scrolled to the end or the beginning in order to select a larger portion of a document. This, however only works in fairly short documents where you can find the other end visually. In other instances I...

Re: Configurable command shell

What about using user menu entries (or using the same interface to configure entries)? Thus you have a flexible framework integrated already. You just need an interface to assign these entries to the different places where the shell is called (Command Line toolbar with or without a command; from a f...
