Re: End of support for Windows 2000, XP, Vista

What would this mean? All future versions will not run on those systems anymore New features will only be available on those systems you will merely no longer fix issues confined to those systems ... Personaly, I suggest, you keep available a version accessible that is capable of running on those le...

Re: Configurable command shell

Well, I think you are drawing the wrong conclusion. You should use COMSPEC to point to any command shell you like. That shell should be compatible to cmd.exe, though. But what about setting up cmd.exe to automatically lauch the shell wrapper of your liking, if that is not compatible? There is a regi...

Re: right mouse click stops working

Are you sure it is related to Salamander's pane, rather than to what is displayed in that pane?

Any chance some Unicode might be involved, somewhere in a folder name or the file name you right click, or even in something that would be displayed in the context menu?

Re: right mouse click stops working

What happens if you switch panes in AS (Menu Left or Right, Swap (or Ctrl+U))? Is it still the left pane that's not working? What happens if you move Salamander's window so the left pane will be where the right pane was on your screen. Still not working? Any software running that hooks or otherwise...

Re: Defaulting to Administrator on startup (2)

Hi,

please check Config > Main Window > Custom text prefix.

please also check salamander's command line for parameter -T (best use Task Manager, Process Explorer or the like for this check)

Re: Drag & drop from 2 drives mounted in folders performs mo

Hi Maxime, Even though I see and understand your thoughts and expectations, I think Windows is doing the right thing in this situation. Seen from Explorer's UI, there is nothing to tell the user that (if) two folders are on two different volumes. So, the user will expect consistent behavior. The use...

Re: Prompt for Credentials on Network Connect

Your questions are beside the point, in my humble opinion. The point is, I would like to get a chance to provide credentials rather that just getting a failure message, which, by the way, in typical Windows manner, does not provide any useful information. What user name cannot be found and where has...

Re: Prompt for Credentials on Network Connect

Hi SelfMan,

yes, I do. Those are connections to shares on domain servers.

Why do you ask about it? Do you think it makes it reasonable to not ask me for credentials?

Prompt for Credentials on Network Connect

Salamander should ask for credentials before giving up on establishing a connection to a network share, if the reason of failure is related to credentials. Zwischenablage01.png Now Salamander tries to connect: Zwischenablage02.png Salamander errors out: (The error reads: Username could not be found)...

Re: Impossible to have admin share as directory shortcut

Salamander uses the $ sign in several places to provide Values from different sources. In the dialog you mention, try the options you get when you click on the little button with the triangle on the left of the text box. Choose anything but browse to see, what I am talking about. And consult online ...

Re: Extend user menu with 'folders'

Hi dufreyne

Are you talking about Submenues? They already exist. Only disadvantage: no drag'n'drop possible to entries in a submenu. And also: can's set an Icon for it. With text labels turned off you'll have to hover to identify it.

Re: 3.05 upgrade and Eroica viewer

Well, for me it actually looks like this: Zwischenablage01.jpg And this is a working installation on Win7 x64 with AS 2.54 (x86). The redist folder is directly copied over from the downloaded .zip, so it contains the actual files, no more subfolders. If it did not work for you this way, there might ...

Re: F4 starts magnifier

It might also be just the Windows shell. Please check all links (shortcuts) in your user profile and the all users profile, especially those on the desktop and in the start menu. They have a hotkey setting that easily interferes anywhere when used. Best start to check the one labeled as screen magni...
