What operation system are you running and how are you writeing to your CD-RW disks? I strongly suspect this to be an issue with the OS or the file system (-driver) on the CD or even how your CD writer SW does things. I remember a similar issue with multy session CDs (looking at them through Windows ...

You cannot buy the beta version anyway. You need to buy the 2.0 version and with it you get the free update for 2.5 on top. Moreover, software is generally marked beta because there is expected to be bugs (more than are unavoidable, but bugs, which ought to be found before the software is ready for ...

Environment variables was great, but only half a solution. Many folders canot reliably be specified by using environment variables, thus we need CSIDL constants too. See Disconnect network drive in the Problems and Troubleshooting forum for an example.

Typing a file name for quick search while pressing a modifier key all the time? You must be kidding! Ok, one could use that AltGr modifier to initiate the quick search only. (I don't know how WC does it, but I know I don't like how it does it. I am always struggeling with this when I am forced to us...

Hi Peter,

since this path is user configurable (see manison's post above), the best (most flexible and versatile) solution in my oppinion was to allow to use environment variables and CSIDL constants in that configuration field.

I made another interesting find today. I had switched off my antivirus program for a certain task, then started SS. The icons showed up! So I thought I had found the offender. However, sadly, I cannot repeat the experience. On the other hand this proves: my system is capable to display them. I will ...

Thank you for your reply, Jan.

I prepaired a Bug Report and mailed it.

I also tried your suggestions, but no change was brought about. Other icons in the Pannel Toolbars show up just as expected.

Here comes a screen shot:

I'd try

Code: Select all

rd /s \\machine\c$\path
or (even more likely to work)

Code: Select all

rd /s \\?\UNC\machine\c$\path

Icons on Change Drive button in Directory Line missing

On my Notebook, no drive icons on Change Drive button in Directory Line are displayed. Drive icons display ok on this button's selection menue and on the Drive Bar. My desktop machine does not show this problem. Both machines are set up alike: WinXP SP2, no visual tweaking beyond settings available ...

Database Viewer prevents system shutdown

When a Database Viewer window is open and I try to shut down my system, shutdown comes to a halt. Windows displays a dialog box stating: 'The program cannot be terminated because it is waiting for input...'. Database Viewer (or SS) displays a message box stating: 'Some Database Viewer windows are op...
