Re: How do I fix this
By the way: Salamander uses the same unpredictable logic on drag and drop for files, as Windows Explorer does. You get copy or move depending on whether the destination is on the same volume as the source (or some condition similar to this). That is one of the reasons I hardly ever use drag and drop...

Re: The Search function (Ctrl-F)m does not work
Hello, Since I use the SSD harddisk without indexeing, the Find function does not found any results. I searched the Filename*.doc and File content Narcis. Settings were on default values. Can You help me? Lubor. Salamander does not use any index for it's search. Salamander searches for your string ...

Re: Cant rename, delete or overwrite a file located inside a gzip / cpio archive.
The TAR plugin, which handles .gz cannot create archives and therefore also not modify them. I recommend you modify the archive with some other tool. My choice was 7-Zip on Windows and tar on a Unix-like system. I do not know, however, how an initrd.gz is structured within, and what restrictions app...

Re: double click
Holding down the shift key to select multiple clips results in the files opening Unfortunately I can' find your train of thought in your post. But regarding selecting files in the panel, shift works for me like everywhere else in standard Windows, except that you don't loose all your entire selecti...

Yes, the dependency beeing the fact that AS does not support unicode. With the former setting, the name could not be converted to the non-unicode encoding.

Re: Is there any plugin to speed up the file search process?
Salamander is actually quite fast searching files. However, it does not use an index und searches for raw file content only. If you need indexed search you need some other tool. There is no plugin for Salamander specifically that offeres indexed search or the use of content filters (offering the abi...

Re: Reg export
Thanks for your reply. I know about reg.exe. It has the same restriction as Salamander and as Regedit. You can export one key only into a file. You cannot even append more data to a pre-existing file. Rather they all overwrite the file with the new data. If you need a collection of keys, you will ha...

Reg export
Does anybody know: Is there a way to export several marked keys or values from the Regstry plugin? In my case I needed several file type associations and their file type definitions e.g. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.doc HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\txtfile HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\...

Re: Mapped Network Drive not shown
That's not something Altap Salamander is supposed to solve. That's a restriction by design of the windows operating system. If I remember correctly, there is a registry hack available to inherit mapped drives when run in elevated mode (same user). You should not work "As Administrator" con...

Re: Unpacker: .cbr/.cbz issue
I believe .cbr / .cbz are not associated to any archiver by default. Please check and alter your configuration in Configuration | Archivers | Archives Associations in Panels You can just edit the list of extensions, or create an entry for cbr;cbz and configure it use ZIP (Plugin) as associated archi...

Re: Salamander does not show nextcloud folder
Salamander only shows directories, that is, whatever part of a folder is represented by objects in the file system. i.e. Salamander does not show Desktop as does Explorer does. Explorer combines content from the personal and from the public desktop directories and adds more stuff from the registry. ...

Re: 7zip archive crashes file manager app
It is not the -si switch per se, that causes AS to crash. Rather it is the missing (or empty?) filename. Nevertheless, crash does it.

Re: Windows PowerToys PowerRename
Hi @mkolber,
This might have something to do with what @manison explains in this Post. If it does, it can be fixed by the developers of the PowerToy.
