Please stand-by ... new version is in the pipe :D
How do you know?

As I see it, it makes little sense to bug Manison as long as the SDK is not released yet.

Re: Save Configuration

Hi Bill,

this works as intended for me (checked x64 version only).

Please check the following setting:

If you want this option unticked by default, untick it in all running instances of AS, then manually save the configuration in one instance.

Re: Win10 1709 Minimize "Hides" Salamander

Please check your settings: SalSetupMainWindow.png Show icon of Altap Salamander in the Status area of Taskbar When Altap Salamander is minimized, the taskbar button is removed from the taskbar. Instead, an icon is displayed in the status area of the taskbar, near the clock. A click on this icon res...

Re: Usermenu command produces an error

Hi //timo I recommend you do not provide parameters in the command text box. I suppose what happens is that your double backslash is reduced to one backslash somewhere along the processing sequence. Tick [x] Open shell window Untick [ ] Close shell window to verify This does not happen if you specif...

Markdown support

I am very glad to finally have a markdown viewer accessible from Salamander. Up till now, I could not even find an external viewer to my liking. I discovered a flaw, however, which you might be able to resolve: I edited the markdown file, while it was open in the viewer. I then tried to update the v...

Open Source Initiative

Hi, I very welcome the new version, although I personally do not benefit from HiDPI enhancements (yet). On the other hand I am sad that the features I do care about most (UAC, Unicode, long file paths) have become unlikely to ever happen. I have understanding for your decision to not opensource the ...

Re: Command line problems

Hi Carlos, your program most likely is not on the PATH. Unlike Windows Run feature, Salamander's command line always runs anything through the shell. The shell is defined by the contents of the COMSPEC environment variable, usually cmd.exe Windows finds some programs by searching the entries in the ...

Re: No icon for office files

It might be some issue with 32/64 bit. What versions of Windows, Office, AS are you using (in regard to version, build, and bitness). Also, because office files are zip archives in disguise, an overly eager archiver might cause a mess. Can you check also with old style office files (i.e. .doc rather...

Re: JSON Viewer Plugin

Looks like the viewer does not work if the root element is not an object. My .json files have a list at it's root and only show the "JSON" tree root in the viewer. Am I missing something? The files have been downloaded from the codeplex archive, e.g. https://archive.codeplex.com/?p=visuallogparser ....

Re: Separator between right-click menu Delete/Rename items

Hi,
The context menu you get is composed by windows, not Salamander (you get the same in Windows Explorer)

Why don't you use F2?

Other options are:
- click on the already selected file name
- Main menu (also using acceleration keys)
- the symbol on any suitable toolbar (e.g. the middle toolbar)

Re: Application crash and corrupted configuration

Just a warning: if you do this, you risk a buggy, instable Salamander, because configuraion data indeed may be incomplete and inconsistent. Avoid it if possible. Also you might loose things like plugins, user menu entries, ftp sites, viewers and editors ... In a case of corruption, I tend to export t...

Re: Prevent jump to extracted file when using WinRAR

I don't think there is a way using the standard archiver methods and working within one panel. The easiest way to achieve what you want is to navigate to the same folder in the second panel (Tab, Ctrl+., Tab) and then extract to the second panel (either chosen in the setup, or by pressing Ctrl+Down ...

Re: Destroyed configuration in Win 10

Thank you for your reply. I am not sure, what I should do with the information provided in the link. That information is targeted at Windows XP. Microsoft redesigned shutdown behaviour in Windows Vista. So, how much of it still applies? Furthermore, as I said, I did not have any trouble yet when ini...

Destroyed configuration in Win 10

I am running AS 2.54 in Windows 10. I do not normally have any problems with incompletely saved configurations when shutting down/restarting Windows, even when I have many instances of Salamander running. However, if windows initiates the restart on it's own, as a result of system updates, it garble...

Re: Cannot login via SFTP/SCP anymore (OpenSSH 7.4p1)

I do not use winscp. However, in similar circumstances (with IMAPSize) I had some success by just replacing the OpenSSL libraries with more recent ones.
