Just for information: Icon in ControlPanel/Software

Post by McLion »

This is not a real issue, just an information:
Before 2.5 there was the Salamander Icon in the Add/Remove Software Control panel. With final release this has be gone. It's a standard installer icon now.

Not sure what you're meaning about "icons"?

Anyhow, for me both SS & AS show the regular Salamander icon in A/R.
Note that 2.5 release is now listed as Altap Salamander rather then Servant Salamander.

The only thing is the missing registry entry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Altap Salamander 2.5]
"DisplayIcon"="C:\\Program Files\\Altap Salamander 2.5\\salamand.exe,0"

I've created a registry file. (Assuming you've installed salamander to the default folder)

Perfect. Added the missing Registry entry with success. :D
Thanks.

Strange.
Wonder why is displays the "correct" icon for some, but not others? Even without the registry entry?

Perhaps on initial install, it would be correct, but if you cleared your Shell Icon Cache, it would revert to a "default" icon?
