Using the ISO file for Windows 7 Beta x64 (en_windows_7_beta_dvd_x64_x15-29074.iso, SHA1=E09FDBC1CB3A92CF6CC872040FDAF65553AB62A5, available from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscri ... fault.aspx), try to copy file [UDF]\sources\install.wim to a directory on your disk. I see a consistent "Read error" for sector #00193B05 about 30% of the way through the copy. I've verified the hash for the ISO and also burned it to a CD and performed a successful installation, so this does not seem like a download error for the ISO file.
Any thoughts?
PS - So far Salamander 2.51 runs fine on Windows 7 Beta x86!

The problem has been fixed for the next release of Altap Salamander (2.52).
