Searching "System Volume Information"

Post by SvA »

Tonight I had a need to search for a file in "C:\System Volume Information". I started Salamander as System user in order to have full access rights. But then I discovered that Salamander skips searching this directory and any subdirectory of it.

Why is this? Is there anything I can do to force searching it?

I do understand that you want to suppress error messages on missing access rights to this particular directory tree, but then just do this, please.

The System Volume Information directories are skipped by default during the search. You may want to remove that directory at Options > Ignore Directory List in the Find dialog.

Ok, found that setting, thank you.

Could this be ignored when explicitely requesting to search it (i.e. this path is entered in the Look in: line? Or else could the error message contain a pointer to this list, please?
