Is there anything Altap or I could do to prevent this surprise?
Crash on USB remove
Crash on USB remove
I just experienced a Salamander 'crash' without any notice. On Windows 2000, I ran two instances of Salamander directly from a USB stick. For some reason, the USB stick got disconnected from the computer. Both Salamanders, one idle and one extracting files from a 7z file, disappeared a few seconds after that!

Re: Crash on USB remove
Probably not, it's "by (Windows) design". The same will happen on broken network connection, when Salamander (or any other application) is running from remote computer.
Windows should not allow (safely) eject the USB stick in such situation.
