It would be nice to have a choice (option/preferences) about which file copy API is used for file copies in Salamander combined with support for SMB2 (W7/Vista/2008). The reason for this feature request is because, right now, if I copy files over the network using Salamander I often have to start two simultaneous copies to get the full gigabit bandwidth to be used. The current file copy performance on a gigabit network (with jumbo frames enabled) that I am seeing is 60-80MB/s. Not bad but when I use the Windows Explorer between systems running W7/2008/Vista it really maxes out the bandwidth at 100-110MB/s.
So the feature request is for two separate things, 1) SMB2 support and 2) a preferences option to decide which copy method is used.
