Filenames and FTP
Filenames and FTP
I have a local network with connected home PCs and a central NAS device as back-up and central storage. When PCs are connected locally file name characters are displayed correctly. When connecting remotely using Salamander FTP all non-english charcters (i.e. Swedish characters like å, ä and ö) display incorrectly. This problem does not occur using some other FTP client like FileZilla. Is there any fix or on the to-do-list? Otherwise I'm very pleased with the Salamander sw. It is in daily use.

Can you post or send us screenshots with the correct and the wrong names?Anonymous wrote:I have a local network with connected home PCs and a central NAS device as back-up and central storage. I enclose screenshots with correct filenames (using FileZilla) and filnames with corrupted characters (using Slamander FTP). Conditions and libraries are identical. It's just different FTP clients.

UTF8 Filenames and FTP
Apparently UTF8-encoded filenames are received from the server in the wrong case, instead of local encoding. This is not correct, unless the client requests it. The Salamander FTP plugin does not request it. Is there any proxy or firewall between your PC and the FTP server? Can you please post or send me (support(at}pictview.com) FTP connection logs from Salamander and FileZilla client? In Salamander, you can find it in the Plugins/FTP Client/Show Logs menu.lbd wrote:I enclose screenshots with correct filenames (using FileZilla) and filnames with corrupted characters (using Slamander FTP). Thanks.
