Can't change file associations in Salamander 2.51

I'm using Salamander 2.51 on Windows XP x64. I want to associate *.rpd files to the mstsc.exe remote desktop executable. I made a mistake initially and ended up associating rdp files with Adobe reader. Now I right click on a rdp file in Salamander, select properties, click on the change button next to the opens with, select browse and browse to the mstsc.exe executable and click on the open button once mstsc.exe is displayed in the file name text box. The file association does not change from acrobat to mstsc.exe.

I've been using the product for over a year and this is the first issue I've run into. Good product.

Did you try the same operation from Windows Explorer window? You can open it using Shift+F3 from Salamander.

I Windows shows the correct file association for my rdp files and when, from Windows explorer, I click on a rdp file my remote desktop session is started. I think only Salamander's association for rdp files is incorrect. I did restart Salamander and the association to Acrobat for my rdp files remains.
