FTP plugin: download very slow

Hi,

I already read some threads about the FTP plugin, so here my problem: downloading much small files is very slow. I downloaded my WordPress files. 7,87MB. The plugin needs 16 min 13 sec. FileZilla do the stuff in 1 min 2 sec!?

Also the plugin only uses one connection. It seems that FileZilla uses at least two connections (I'm not sure, but the queue shows two progress bars at the same time).

Logs are saved.

You can use more threads for downloading in AS. Just press "Details >>" button and the use "Add" button to add more threads, that will be used for current operation (download, upload, chmod, etc.).

The number of connections is very important when working with many small files. Try to add some connections (e.g. up to 5) when you start copying: click on Details button to enlarge FTP progress window and then Add button just below Connections listview. Let me know if it helps.

Salamander's FTP Client plugin allows using multiple connections - just click on Add button (under Details >> button).

OK, I checked out transfer with 10 threads. Elapsed time: 1 min 36 sec.

I think I missunderstood this feature: my assumption was, that the plugin would create automaticly an specific amount of threads depending on outstandig operations and the usage of only one thread results from some problems creating more threads.

Maybe you can implement a per server option like "If there are more than X operations, create Y threads automaticly"?
