File Filter display

I like to filter out backup files from display, but I'm not crazy about their display as part of the file path in the breadcrumb thing. I keep clicking on the current folder thinking I'm clicking on the previous one, and I get the (new) 'change directory' dialog, which anoys me. I suggest an option to not display the file fileter, or better, to be able to put it elsewhere.
