Registry Editor Plugin impovements

Post by SvA »

In the Registry Editor plugin, there should be a hot key for adding a value (I suggest SHIFT-F4). With full row select active, it is very cumbersome to get at the New Value... menu entry.

In the Value Edit dialog, the content of the Value Data field should be initially selected (as opposed to focused only as it is now).

There should be a possibility of changing security settings.

The editor should support all possible registry data types (REG_MULTY_SZ, REG_BINARY...) on creation and provide usefull editing facilities for at least the more common types like REG_MULTY_SZ and REG_BINARY. It also should support a binary option on REG_DWORD and REG_QWORD.

The plugin should support jumping into an external registry editor (ie it should should provide for the entry of a program name and some variable place holders to forge a suitable parameter list.

The plugin should provide useful data conversions on input and output to be used in the file based external editor (unless this feature is made obsolete by implemention the suggestions above and you decide to discontinue this feature. There has not yet been a single instance where this feature, as it is now, was of any help to me.
