Function Keys

Just tried the demo for Salamander 2.5 RC1, and my function keys do not work. The buttons that they map to do work. Didn't experience this with Salamander 2.0 or 1.5.

I am not quite sure I understand what you are talking about.

Is this said about the Bottom Toolbar?
Never heard abou problems with function keys. Could you please make sure there is no program active which hooks the keyboard and thus might interfere (i.e no program which defines global hotkeys).

Er yes, that's correct. The buttons on the bottom toolbar (Copy, Move, etc) work correctly, but the equivalent function keys do not. Both work correctly with previous versions of Salamander, and I have checked to see if those keys are being trapped by any applications.

Do you still have Salamander 1.52 or 2.0 installed? Could you try it in the same time as 2.5?

I do still have 2.0 installed. With both running, the function key behaviour is as described; 2.0 works as expected, 2.5 does not.
Apologies, it seems the problem is my concern. The application I use for window skinning, ShellWM, doesn't recognize your new dialog boxes. With it's skinning disabled, the function keys work correctly in 2.5.

If you have, for instance, a Packard Bell, you will have to press the FN key every time you boot, in order to have access to the function keys. Until you do so the functions keys work otherwise, each with a different function established by Packard Bell, like open cd drive.

The problem appears to be the result of a bug in a beta of WindowBlinds. It has been fixed in subsequent releases.
