I am looking at software that will allow me to copy 65GB (yes GB) over a LAN.
The server 2000 has not got USB2 and it is taking 20 hours to back up. However, if I back up to an exsisting hard drive it ony take 6hrs.
I than want to copy that backup to another computer who does have USB2 and safe it there...
so...
1. will salamander allow backup to another computer (the drive is shared).
2. will it handle files that are around 4GB is size each (just that there are around 15 of them)
3. what would the speed be like over a 10/100 network
Regards

It should be no problem to copy large files over network. Files over 4GB limit are supported. Speed: I cannot say, it depends on many factors (OS on both computers, network cards, drivers, TCP stack settings, used switch, etc.). Try it yourself: http://www.altap.cz/download.html#sal25
