I visited Czech for two days and kept noticing Salamander word on some shops (probably shoe shop).

any relationship between Salamander and Czech traditions or something?

Salamander shoe shops hasn't any relation to Altap Salamander and Salamander shoe company is German not Czech: http://www.salamander.de/.

Both have different origin: Salamander shoes use special sole which is as good as Salamander paw.
