Removed signature from mail window

Post by cincura.net »

Hi *,

when you use Ctrl-E function to send file via email, the body of mail is "
Your files are attached and ready to send with this message.
". But the signature (or any other text in window) is removed.

I don't think, this is what user expect.

As far as I think , it's because before AS inserts test above, it deletes whole content of mail body.

Ctrl+E opens a new message window entirely in my email client, Eudora.

And how is this related to the thread topic?

Just pointing out that what I am observing is different from what you are observing.

In your case, Ctrl+E seemingly is replacing existing text in an email message.

In my case, Ctrl+E opens a new message window entirely - so there is nothing being replaced, as the "message" was empty to begin with.

(Or am I misunderstanding what you've posted?)

PS: I do not use a signature, so I wouldn't know about that part.

Me, too. But it's not what we're talking about.

If you don't use signature, you can't see the problem.

I do not have this problem. I use Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 on Win XP SP2 Pro.

The signature shows as usual in the e-mail editor after CTRL-E from AS.

I compose text only e-mails. My signature uses the proper signature separator dash dash space on a line by itself.

I'm using Outlook 2007 on Vista Business 64b.

Me, too. But I got in body only "Your files are attached and ready to send with this message.", nothing more.

But creating email from Opera works fine, no signature removed. I've also noticed, that if I send email generated by AS, it's not copied to IMAP folder as sent (from Opera no problem).

AS is probably doing some wrong stuff with MAPI.

I'm using Outlook Express v6.00.2900.2180 and the messages are properly saved into the Sent folder, although the signature really isn't there in a new message invoked by AS.

I think the former could be a WOW64 limitation. Could you confirm?

By the way, I think that the misunderstanding was a result of you using the word 'removed'. That implicates that there was some text in the message before, but the message is a new one, so there can be no text before. The proper expression would be for example 'not present'.

I had a template for new message. So I wanted to clarify, that it's no related to some '-- ' (strip sig) issue.
