Tortoise icons not appearing in multiple Windows Profiles

Post by Francisj »

I have a different slant on the Tortoise Icon issue.
I use multiple Wiondows profies at different clients, but the Tortoise overlays only display under the account where I installed Altap Salamander (they are still visible in Windows Explorer, and I'm using the latest nightly build of Tortoise).

What version of Windows are you using?

What types of accounts? (limited?)

Overlay icons are displayed correctly on all accounts in the Windows Explorer?

- Windows XP
- Local Account and Domain Accounts
- Overlays are appearing correctly in Windows Explorer on all these accounts.

I finally found what was going on here and it had nothing to do with Altap Salamander.
It seems that when TortoiseSVN is installed it only enables icon overlays for explorer by default for other profiles than the one it was installed on. Having seen this and disabled it in the Tortoise settings everything worked as expected.
