some questions of a newbie

Post by tormen »

1st) This is a nice-2-have.
I am intersted in an windows explorer REPLACEMENT!

So it would be nice to have Windows+E starting the replacement as an
option inside the program.
This is not yet in the options, right?

--

2nd) This is a MUST (for me).
I am highly interested in especially replacing windows network
environment with winscp!
--> I want hotpaths to winscp profiles so that with one shortcut I can
switch to a "network share" (via scp)!
Is this possible / planned?

---

Is it possible to define sort of macros?
E.g. to execute on a selection of files. Like to copy them to a certain
folder with one shortcut?

---

Is it possible to change all keyboard-shortcuts somehow? e.g. to have
crtl+alt+d to show me the "d:\myTemp\downloads" folder ... ?
(instead of the hot-path shortcuts)

Hi, could you please copy and paste each request or question to separate thread with appropriate subject (there is Feature Request section)? I'm sorry for bothering you, but it is only way how to keep this place usable...

Hi.

I did not post to feature request, because I don't know if it is a feature request, or if I was just not able to find the feature I was looking for.

And I must wonder about your philosophy... first I ask these questions by mail. I have to write THREE mails, before getting the answer that I have to use the forum.

Now I am USING the forum, but I am not doing it in the way you want it...

... I mean ... maybe I am wrong, but *I* am the customer, and *YOU* should serve me, that's why you SELL software?!
As I already wrote in my last email to you: It does NOT seem, that you are interested in customers a lot.

And maybe you forgot: Your forum has a SEARCH function!
So it IS possible to USE a forum with postings containing more then one question at a time!

And last: IF you want people to post ONE question (maybe one sentence would be even better for you?) at a time, WRITE it in the description of your forum!

/1st/
I wanted to DISCUSS.
/2nd/
I wanted to ASK.
/3rd/
I tried to express that I have NO CLUE wether it is a feature-request, because I TITLED my posting with: "questions of a NEWBIE".

Hi, I'm sorry, but this is only way how we can respond to Servant Salamander users. This forum with forum rules and guidelines. We have no enough resources to support users via email.

Please look at this forum before you judge us.

OT:
Let me respond to your sentences. Subject of your topic was/is "some questions of a newbie". Can you say to me, what's the information there? If I wanna to reply to you, maybe now, maybe later, I have to find your question. Without good subject it's much harder and maybe in some lists you'll never get reply. You posted topic in "General Discussion" and IMO this isn't general discussion. And the last, you mix a lot of questions in one message (which is in fact related to the wrong subject, 'cause with good "subjecting" this isn't possible). But this is not only about more questions in one. If forum should stay clean and readable for users and Altap, there must be some "regulation" (like closing threads, moving, etc.). But with more questions in one topic this is so difficult and I'm not scared about saying not possible. Maybe later when Altap will be searching and counting request from users, this thread will be ignored, 'cause it's no clean topic, but some "garbage" in one pack.

Sorry, I have to say this.

sorry

Hi.

You are true. Within a forum such a posting like my "collective" posting was not usefull.

The point was: I was still angry because it needed 3 mails to get an answer, then the forum, then AGAIN I did it not good enough... pfff... this was too much.

Nevertheless I wanted to say: Sorry for the bad mood of my posting.

Greetings,

tormen.

P.S.: Even though I think: The content of my posting was not garbage.
But thats a nother story :-)
