hassle in panel:
when file is dropped to panel the menu appeared with useless items Copy Here, Move Here and the most useless Cancel. to reach shell extensions context menu user have to click Other. it’s reasonable to include shell extensions items in main menu (under the separator or just replace hole menu). -
bug in unpack plug-in:
i had gz archive (u can download it here: http://citeseer.ist.psu.edu/rd/15251528 ... -for.ps.gz )
which contain file named http:zSzzSz....ps
this name contain ":" as u can see so it cannot be unpacked: zero-size file named "http" is always created. -
little bug in Find dialog:
when i typing for example "somelong" in find dialog in <Named> and resize/maximize/minimize the Find dialog window, the string is autocompleting by the word searched before (for example "somelongquery "). -
suggestion for Find dialog:
it would be good if it was able to perform plug-ins actions on items in Find dialog (for example making file list of found items or renaming them). -
suggestion for batch rename and other “perform on selected plug-ins”:
if no items selected then action would performed to the focused file or directory. but if focused special item ".." it is reasonably to perform action to all files in directory. -
suggestion for panel plugins:
it’s reasonable to provide ability to search in multiply folders which are selected while calling Find (auto filling in Look in field). -
suggestion for panel plugins:
there is no point to open Find with panel plug-ins if they do not provide ability to search (it’s very helpful ability for huge archives, ssh connections and so on). at least fill in Look in field with parent or previous valid directory. -
suggestion for command line:
it`s better to unselect Command line after command is executed (at least as option). -
bug in PictView (it was at some old build):
lots large images have black vertical lines while resized. -
hassle in registry panel plug-in; views:
registry panel plug-in is very uncomfortable because it’s slow to press <Enter> every time to view value. there is no normal ability to resize columns in detailed view.
maybe it`s better to implement new table mode (new View): one column shows files and another shows descriptions (which provide plug-ins are in DIRINFO for example). and there would be key names on the right and values on the left while browsing registry. -
suggestion for Batch rename plug-in:
it would be cool to handle "\" in “Replace with..” as some other batch replacing tools do (moving files with creating folders). for example: Search: "Photo (.*) at (\d\d\d\d) year.jpg" and Replace with: "Photos\\$(2)\\($1)". -
suggestion for Batch rename plug-in:
after "Regular expression" performed, "Regular expression" become unselected, "Whole words" disabled, "Case.." selected, "once.." selected, fields cleared. so it’s quite strange behavior when performing similar actions. -
suggestion for panel archive plug-in and other panel plug-ins:
reading list of files in archive cannot be stopped. but it is long-time action and can take plenty resources (it’s important for huge archives). -
hassle in User menu bar:
when i’m browsing for example archive all the buttons on User menu bar are disabled. but some applications don`t request selected file name! so i just want to have shortcuts for some programs and it’s doesn’t matter which directory is opened. -
little bug in User menu bar:
when in Command mentioned executable file itself and Initial directory - the directory where it located (for example “%SystemRoot%\system32\”), the icon isn’t correspond. -
bug in saving configs (it was at some old build):
during the saveing configs while no space for them 1450, 1019 errors appeared. it’s better to create "Skip saving configs" button (on exit). -
hassle in archive browsing plug-ins (and other panel plug-ins):
it would be great to have hot key to open archive (or images and so on) with external program (for example registered with appropriate file extensions WinRar which shows comments in archives). i know that it can be called from context menu with “Open”, but hot key would be useful.

i do not think that
it a good idea - cause Salamander "eat" more and more resources from build to build.Update the user interface: Windows Vista and XP menu look, controls, etc. -
is too complex problem and cannot be implemented with panel interface as it now. it’s not worth efforts, beforehand there are lots of much better tools.Synchronize directories command.
