Seperate handling of the two panels

Post by Stefan »

I often hate it when i resize the column of one panel
and the columns in the other panel is resizes automaticly too :(
I would love it to resize the columns of the two panels different.

Nearly the same with the recent folder drop down (wich is by itself an great helper, BTW) list:

I would preffer it to have the item seperated by panel,
in the left "drop down recent folder list" i want to see
the folders i had visited in the left panel only.

And the same in the right panel.

But i can imagin to have an sub menu in each list
to access the recent folder of the other panel this way, like:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Recent folder of the other panel =>   |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-------------------------------------------------| 1  last visited folder  |
1  last visited folder                               | 2  second last
2  second last visited folder                   |3  third last folder
3  my third last visited folder is here      |
4  and so on
5  and so on
6
7
8
9
0
B
C
D
E
------------------------------------------------

Also see the suggestion to have shortcuts for quick access.

I like the synchronized way it works, but at times I too have needed this to be 'unlinked' ... I think perhaps the most elegant way to solve it is adding option for "[x] Linked column header widths" under Options | Views, and additionally a quick toggle in context menu when right clicking any column header ([x] Linked column header widths from: {left|right} showing in context; left if rightside and right if leftside).
