[bug?] Remote Desktop

Post by Margodth »

Hello, I 'm writing this message because I've been having troubles with Remote desktop and SS.
When I connect to my PC from another and I focus on SS, the Remote Desktop connection is lost. I try to connect again but the focused app is SS so I connect and disconnect automatically.
This odd behavior does not happen always. But very often.
I'm Using windows XP SP2 and SS 2.5 RC2
Any idea?

Sorry about my horrible writing but English it's not my first language.

I remember having had a similar problem once. I don't remember which version of Salamander was involved. I had no difficulty to reconnect, since I only lost the connection on directory change, and even then only sometimes. I received a message by the RDP client which said something about 'invalide response'.
I did not do anything to resolve the problem. It disppeared probably by rebooting.

I suggest you try rebooting both machines. If it does not help update your RDP client (and server if there does exist any such update). Furthermore try with antivirus and firewall disabled on both machines and on the complete network link.

I can't realy see how Salamander could be causing this. At most Salamander could provoke it.

Yes, you are right. But the question is how SS can provoke this wrong behavior. I've reboot both machines but the problem lingers until I close SS. Perhaps Altap can find a solution and perhaps they can't. I only want to inform Altap about this problem.

Thanks

Check the system event log for errors.
These will say more.

Try to open Servant Salamander configuration Options > Configuration > Drives.

In the Network drives section turn off "Use automatic refresh" and set "Use simple icons" option.

Does it help?
