I have just started using Servant Salamander and I just love it.
I like the way the columns can be automatically resized so that you don't have to always be resizing them to the right size. However, I've gotten used to having the filename column as wide as possible, and the default method of auto sizing moves the other values right next to the filename.
Henceforth my suggestion: It would be nice to have a way to have one column resize itself to as wide as possible given available space (instead of just wide enough to fit the content). This could be implemented for example by adding a third choice to Configuration -> Views. In addition to Automatic and Fixed width you could add Automatic (All available space). Of course this should be only enabled for only one column, so perhaps a additional checkbox for Automatic width instead

I know I can achieve this by selecting Fixed width and resizing the column as appropriate but that leaves some minor problems:
1) Plugin views might provide more columns, and the fixed width causes them to go out of viewing area, even though the is empty space available.
2) Sometimes I have to resize the window (and sometimes it just gets resized, f.eg. by a game that changes the resolution. It would be nice to have the view automatically adjust
Cheers for making such an nice file manager. It's the number 1 swiss army knife in my toolbox =)
