Hi,
It appears that if I allow a non-administrative user "auser" to access a directory (and all children) belonging to another user, eg. "A Different User":
C:\Documents and Settings\A Different User\My Documents\My Virtual Machines
But "auser" doesn't any direct permissions on:
C:\Documents and Settings\A Different User\
Servant Salamander seems unable to change directories to the "My Virtual Machines" directory above. I've tried using the "Change Directories" button as well as copying the directory name and pasting it in using Ctrl+V.
The error message specifically refers to the "My Documents" directory. This is a little weird as it is a directory *beneath* the first directory that "auser" doesn't have permissions on.
If I type it into the Windows "Run" dialog, or paste it into a Windows Explorer window, the directory appears and I can use it without any problems.
I've tried running searches for "change directory" and browsing through the forums a bit but I can't find any similar reports. This surprises me a bit, as I would have though someone else would have a similar problem.
Is this a Servant Salamander problem or am I doing something wrong?
Cannot change directory: parent folder permissions
