I feel like a newbie but I can't get EXIF info to work.
I got the errormessages for missing DLL:s so I first got the EXIF.DLL and then also the SALRTL.DLL. Started with putting them both in the IrfanView\Plugins dir but that did not work. So then I put them also in %SYSTEMROOT% \System32 but still it did not work. So then I put them also in the %ProgramFiles(x86)\IrfanView dir but still it does not work.
So then I searched this forum, did not find anyone else having problems so then I Googled but still no luck.
I guess there is a very simple solution to this but I can't see it. Please help me.
P.S. Why are the EXIF.DLL, SALRTL.DLL and IPTC.DLL not installed when installing Salamander? Anybody who knows? D.S.

Those files are going to be specific to Salamander (or more specifically; EXIF.DLL to the Pictview plugin & SALRTL.DLL to Salamander).
Why would you put those files in an IrfanView directory (or anywhere else).

They should be (except IPTC.DLL).
Even if you "remove" the Pictview plugin, the files still remain.

IPTC.DLL is a plugin used by IrfanView & has nothing to do with Salamander.
In order to display EXIF data, there needs to be EXIF data in the file. And if so, typing an 'E' will display it (in Salamander).

In IrfanView, view the file Information on a file (I), then click the 'EXIF info*' dialog box on the properties dialog, & it will show the EXIF information.
IrfanView needs to be able to find the EXIF.DLL (or ITPC.DLL) that it uses in order to display said information. Those plugins you get from IrfanView, IrfanView PlugIns. (They are not the same as what Salamander uses, even if the names may happen to be the same, & they are not interchangeable between Salamander & IrfanView.)
