Ignore CRC errors

Post by Banefire »

Can Servant Salamander be made to ignore CRC errors when moving/copying.. I'm trying to recover data from a damaged disk and am starting by moving all the good data across to a new drive.. I'll use a file recovery problem on what's left.. Trouble is that there are quite a few damage files folders that require clicking OK in response to the CRC error notification message.. Any way I can set this to an auto respond and just log the errors so I can effectively do an unattended move ?..

I think that's has nothing to do with file managing - the primary function of AS, so maybe you should use a specialized program. Anyway, I'm not sure it's even possible at this level of programming, CRC errors come from the filesystem/harddisk driver, not AS. (Right?)

In retrospective, I see what was the actual request. An option to skip errors would be a good thing.

+1 ;)

I've posted similar feature request in Czech part of the forum 2 years ago:
- Kopírování - Záchrana poškozených souborů - ignorování chyb (Czech)
