When I try to undelete a large dvd ISO file, the undelete plugin says that the file is 0 bytes. I get this with multiple undelete programs.
Any idea how to solve this?
Undeleting large ISO file
This is because the place where the file was located has been overwritten.
If you have only a C:\ drive than the ability to recover deleted files is very low and decreases with the amount of free space on the hard drive.
(less free space = higher possibility of overwriting deleted content's allocated space)
There are several factors:
- page file
- temporary Internet files (browser cache)
- temporary files created by applications (*.tmp)
Any of these can cause the overwrite of the space.
This is the reason of the "Recycle" bin's existence.
