calculate directory size automatically

Post by royalware »

It would be great if it was possible to make the Salamander automatically calculate directory size. When I have selected browsing through my folders I have to press CTRL+ALT+F10 after every folder change.

Or is there already an option for that?

There has been a lot of discussion already in the czech part of this forum.

And it seems that it is not so simple as it sounds.

Go in search enter CTRL ALT F10 and choose all words.

That would be a fulltime job for a translator.
There are czech and slovak contributions, so you would need a very inteligent translation engine... :-)

In any case for Altap has this feature a very low priority.
So don't expect this to be implemented in the near future.
I am sory, I would also need this as I use this feature very often.

There had been a long discussion on this topic, in short: Some people want this feature and Altap team asked how should it work (remember the complete tree of directory sizes? automatically recalculate the sizes on change? ...). But the people were unable to reach an agreement, so Altap decided to not implement this feature until they would have some time to spare and a precise concept. Generally, Altap consider this as not interesting for most users of AS.

Agreed...

I also would like this as an config option, if not the default. I don't like having to go to the menu to display directory sizes on a regular basis. It is useful when moving a lot of files around between USB drives, CDs, DVDs and such.
