F2 to rename file in line option
I use salamander as a HTPC interface. Nice large font to browse media files to play. Sometimes files need to be renamed, but pressing F2 brings up a little window which is far too small to use if not sitting at the computer.

Re: How to rename file in line without a mouse?
Thanks, but I don't want to change DPI and the second option does not make the typed text any bigger.
Do you know if it can be done with a plugin to modify the behaviour of salamander or must it be a feature request at this point?

Re: Find external packers with a relative path
Just found out you can use relative paths by setting the rar.exe location in Configuration >> Archivers >> External Archivers Locations
$(SalDir) works here.
So nevermind

Find external packers with a relative path
I put rar.exe in the same folder as salamand.exe. In the packers configuration I simply put "rar.exe" for the command but Salamander couldn't find it. I also tried "$(SalDir)\rar.exe" but that didn't work either because it didn't know what $(SalDir) was. That variable works with external viewers and ...

Salamander classic icon is back (almost)...
I really miss the old Salamander icon although it does look dated nowadays. I saw a much more polished classic salamander icon as one of the entries in that new icon competition. So I downloaded it, edited the colors to turn the white background to transparency, and converted it into a .ico file to ...
