nevermind, I must have been deceived by the "Rightmark CPU utility" which was running my CPU on "power on-demand" mode, so the overall system performance was very low.

I vote for the NEW behaviour. It's more natural than the current one and fully compatible with m$ explorer.

I also raise my hand and vote for this feature. I guess that I keep the extension in 90% of my rename operations.

Make that 99% for me! I think we should vote for this one. A must-have feature and not really hard to implement Altap guys... :roll:

I have a suspicion that the message subject and body are auto-generated by your email client, which I think is Thunderbird, because I get exactly the same texts when I use this function.

SS merely sends the file(s) to your email client; it doesn't edit email messages neither sends them through SMTP ...

wow! great idea and a natural feature for the find dialog. hope to see it done !

For once more I feel that SS is an endless source of inspiration!

I see your point. Nevertheless, I still believe the <backspace> behaviour is more or less about the "taste" it leaves in each one of us.

The locate tip you provided with the backslash key is quite ambiguous IMO (although it's very straight and productive) because it doesn't ...

This is the best solution which btw will not affect current functionality, but I don't know if it is painless to implement.

Let me clarify this issue...

The current functionality of the backspace key is nearly perfect (as everything else in SS!)

Please follow this example and tell me if I'm wrong:
- Open Drive C: (or where the OS is located)
- Use the arrows and open \WINDOWS
- Press 'T' and 'E' to focus the \WINDOWS ...

There is a problem IMO with the backspace key which sometimes drives me crazy!

Let's say you're browsing c:\windows and you press 'T','E' to focus the "temp" directory. If you want to browse back to the parent folder (c:\) you can do it by pressing:
- <alt>+<left arrow>
- <esc>+<backspace> . Note ...
