Program exit without any error message

Post by Guest »

It happens that Altap Salamander (only with 2.5 final, i haven't noticed this behavior in any RC) exits without any message. It seems that the crash occurs when the panel is refreshed, p.e. when a download is running in the active panel.

Do you use Tortoise SVN (CVS)? Or other software using icon overlays (for example PixVue)?

Yes i am using SVN, but the folder where the crash occurs is not under SVN-control. Unfortunately the error is not reproducible.

This problem is PROBABLY related to TortoiseSVN.
Icon overlay shell extensions are called for every displayed file and directory (not only for repository tree).

Please look at

What version of TortoiseSVN are you using? Latest 1.4.3? If no, could you please upgrade to this version and let us know?

Thanks for the hint! The installed Tortoise-version was 1.4.2. I have installed v1.4.3 now (the SVN-version on the server is/was also 1.4.3). I will report you any further crash.

Thank you for ANY further information on this!

It is a really big problem for us because Salamander was very stable before Icons Overlays support was implemented (version 2.5 RC3). We hope we will help to track down and fix these problems with authors of problematic shell extensions.
