Win8: "Look for another app on this PC" dialog not showing

When I open the 'Choose default program' option (context menu/Open with), select 'More options' and then 'Look for another app on this PC', nothing happens in Salamander 3.0b2 x86 or x64. The correct 'Open with...' dialog is shown when the same option is selected from the Windows' standard Explorer context menu.
