Hi All,
I hope you can help me with this problem.
I am using Salamander 2.53 under Vista Home.
I first noticed this problem when I tried to change some items in my "Hot Paths" menu bar.
I make the changes, and shut down, but when I re-launch, the changes have not been changed.
"Options/'Configuration/General/Save configuration on exit" is ticked.
If I change any of the other settings under "General" they ARE saved.
I haven't had this problem before, so I suspect it's some configuration change which is preventing these Hot Path changes.
Hope you can help
Regards - Jadag

Hi jadag,
as a first step you should determine whether Salamander is unable to save the configuration or just does not do it on exit. Use the Options | Save Configuration menu item to do so.

Some things you might want to try:
- If you have a registry guard type program running deactivate it (or better: uninstall it).
- Check the information in the thread saving Salamander's configuration to the registry and follow Jan's advice
- Check the ACL's on Salamander's registry tree (reg:\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Altap\Altap Salamander <Version>)
- Check that you don't use the -C <reg_file> command line parameter
- Follow the following procedure
- Start Salamander
- export the configuration
- delete the registy key specified above
- check the configuration option 'Save configuration on exit' and turn it on if it is not
- save the configuration
