My thumb drive, aka, memory stick, and my Muvo MP3 player don't show up in list of drives in 2.5b. To access through SS I must click on Control Portable and then Portable Media. These USB devices always show up as drive G: in SS2.0. Thanks
I meant "Control Panel"

In SS2.5b I must click on the Control Panel icon and then Portable Media.

Could you access this USB flash disk using Windows Explorer?
Does it have a drive letter associated with it?
No, not in Explorer, only in Control Panel -> Portable Media

As you may suspect, I don't find a drive letter for my flash drive or MP3 player in Windows Explorer. STILL, I ALWAYS found the drive letter when using SS 2.0. It seems to have disappeared in SS2.5b. That's a shame because it was very, very convenient accessing these little devices through Salamander rather than Control Panel -> Portable Media.
If at all possible, please bring back that capability! Thanks.

There could be problem in the System Policies settings, that are supported from Servant Salamander 2.5.
In this case it would be
System Policies to Hide Specific Drives:

If you are not familiar with Windows Registry, you could install the Microsoft TweakUI:
Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98 or Windows 95

Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/down ... rtoys.mspx
Could you please check it out?

Yes -- TweakUI fixed it easily. Now, SS 2.5b sees my little USB devices as drive letters, just as in SS2.0. That is a relief.
Your solution never occurred to me since I could see the USB devices as drive letters in SS 2. You may wish to consider adding your tip to the help file for the new 2.5 in case others have the same "problem."
Thanks very much!
