With the 2.5 beta 11, I have to manually configure a lot of file extensions for the viewer to work with. For example, *.DOC, *.TXT, *.INI...
A problem that I never had in the past with precedingt version of Salamander. It is very annoying.
Is it due to a misconfiguration/installation, or a new politics?

Probably due to a misconfiguration/installation.
Try these threads:
Uninstalling older versions
FTP settings lost

OK, everything fine now.
I had to uninstall beta 10 and beta 11, then reinstall beta 11.
Seems there is a more complete list of extensions now.

With this procedure you have done so called clean installation. You lost your previous settings, but you lost your previous mis-settings too :)
And this cure your problems.

There is a problem:
-Operations with Windows Registry are terribly slow under Windows XP.
-Windows XP kills not-responding processes during OS shutdown.
-Servant Salamander is not responding during "Saving configuration" stage.
Result: configuration is corrupted.

Solution: Close all running applications before you shut down Windows.

We know about this issue and will try to fix it (at least indicate it).

@Altap-Team: Does that mean, the next beta will have an option to save configuration in a ini-file :)
(using an ini-file already mentioned by Jan Rysavy in this and in this thread)

No. We must finish the language translation support, I'm sorry...
