Can´t copy to shared folder
Can´t copy to shared folder
Hello,
I´ve installed most recent version and set a shared folder on local network for the client. Everything works fine, however in Salamander I can´t copy into the shared folder any file. The permissions are set to Everyone with full access within the network.
Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted in Salamander?
Thank you

Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Are you running Salamander as Administrator or in User level mode?
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Yes. There's only one user account that is Admin and UAC level is set to the lowest one - no prompts.
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
You have to take in account that even in such case it behaves like a different user. If you are not in a domain, you have to create an identical username/password combo on the target machine to be able to get in.
Also, you might add the followin registry key on the target system:
REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001 /f

Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Thanks, but the shared folder is on that very computer on C:\ drive, so there should not be an issue with the permissions? Copying files in Windows Explorer works just fine.
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
When you run Salamander as standard user (not admnistrator) how does it behave?
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Only one account is set on that machine, don't want to create more accounts as this is not needed for the user. It looks like some permission issue within Salamander, is it fixable?
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Take a Screenshot of the running Salamander and post the top title bar here.
Also, you have to set up the share permissions && file level permissions on the folder.

Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
The permissions are set fine, as in Explorer I can´t do anything with the files, only Salamander doesn´t work.
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Again, what are the NTFS permissions on the shared folder?
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Everyone has full access - local accounts or over LAN.
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
What happens if you use Shift+F7 and enter \\127.0.0.1\SharedFolderName ?
Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Using the direct address opens the shared folder in Salamander fine, but files still cannot be copied. Outcome is the same as navigating through This PC - Network.
Took photos of permissions for this folder.

Re: Can´t copy to shared folder
Check the access right on the existing subfolders too.
Change the owner of the shared folder to admin if it isn't and then let the access rights propagate to the existing subfolders.

Chcel som radsej pisat v EN keby to niekto dalej hladal, inak https://vlkotech.sk/)
The folder lies in the root of C:\ and has no files or subfolders inside. It´s completely empty at this point. If I try to copy something in Salamander, I get the blocked cursor thing and nothing really happens. I really feel this is a bug that ca be easily reproduced on a clean install of W10 64bit with latest updates and most recent version of Salamander. The network is set to be discoverable and everything works OK in native Explorer.
Is there a way to fill in a bug?
