Is Salamander beta 1 slower?

Displaying directory list is much slower than before. about 1 sec / 10 lines.
windows 2008 server enterprise 64bit.
salamander beta 1, default install.
no antivirus on system

If anything, I find Altap Salamander 2.53b1 to be faster - more responsive than 2.52.
So far, running on Windows 7 x64, Windows 7 x86, Vista x64 - no problems whatsoever with 2.53 b1.
