We will publish more information in coming days.
I hope this will be in a form of a strategic partnership. You will have some shares of the **Fine** company. If this would shield you from the bureaucracy and you could focus only on AS development then it is a great idea.

I'm looking forward to your official statement.

I've used this great tool for over a decade, quite sad for my ever-enduring optimism to die like this. I seriously doubt a construction firm as any interest in developing a file manager!
First of all it's not a construction company but a software company developing structural engineering software.
Secondly i think the guys could no longer sustain the business and tried to find a company willing to take over. I believe they found one who is willing to invest into it otherwise Fine had no reason to buy it. It's not a hostile take over trying to destroy a competitor since both companies make different products. Hopefully the guys at Fine are also Salamander fans so its future can be secured. Any way i expect the development of Salamander to continue.
