Altap Salamander Support Forums

Dear Forum!

Using Salamander 2.52, I experience a delay of about 1 s after every file operation (copy, move, etc.).
This delay acts like a brake that prevents me from using Salamander within this 1 s.
The program just does not react.
The behaviour is the same on local and remote drives.

How can I get rid of this delay?
It really dampens my productivity.
Am I missing something fundamental?

Maybe antivirus related problem?

Tim, what about operations such as View File or Change Attributes?

Please try to disable Options > Configuration > Icon Overlays > Display custom icon overlays option.

Tested turning off ESET.
No change in behaviour.
Unfortunately, it must be something else.

OK, turned it off.
Now, the delay seems even longer.
What's going on here ... ?

A similar problem has been discussed HERE
Just search for delay or lag as keywords.

Have you restarted salamander after the configuration change?

Tim, your first posts are from 2006. Did you notice these delays before AS 2.52?
Or, does it start with installation of AS 2.52?

Not sure, but I guess it started with 2.52 (Beta).

What OS are you on? Which version of ESET Antivirus/ESS do you have?
Are you using any programs with shell extensions like TortoiseCVS/SVN?

Could you please test older versions? (Install it to some temporary directory.)
