No beep on x64

Just a minor thing, Windows Vista and XP x64 do not have a "speaker beep" anymore:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... S.85).aspx
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961011/EN-US

So maybe the option "Use speaker beep to announce finishing of work in inactive window" should be disabled (and off) for 64-bits OSes? Or use some other sound API.
Personally, I hate it that Microsoft broke this commonly used functionality...

I'm not sure whether you're saying that the finished operation notification is not working, or just pointing out a bad/obsolete name of the option. IMO it's the latter case and it should be changed to a 'sound notification' instead of 'speaker beep'.

Actually, Windows (not sure about Vista+) substitutes the default notification sound ("ding") using a speaker beep when no sound device is available.

I can confirm the beep works fine under Windows Vista x64.

I'm sorry, I did not actually check whether it works. I just assumed it would not, as the option said "speaker beep".
I'm glad it does, although I don't use it myself.

I think it would be good to change 'speaker beep' to 'notification sound' or something similar, to avoid confusion.
