I have several hot paths setup, but is it possible to see "Desktop" in the hotpath (for example), rather than "c:\Documents and Settings\JEFFFY-FG07FAF\Desktop\" ? The former is much easier to quickly read when using the mouse, and I have one that normally points to my current project - it currently points to "c:\Documents and Settings\JEFFFY-FG07FAF\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\CANOEAL" and so would be much shorter and quicker to read as just "CANOEAL".

If not, is it possible to do such a thing elsewhere, for example, via the user menu ?

Just go to the Options menu, choose Configuration..., go to Hot Paths, select the chosen item and click on the "a|e" icon on the upper right (or just double-click the item), and enter whichever name is best for you.
