I'm trialing Altap Salamander.
Two questions about Configuration - Colors:
1) What are Hot items? I would like to find them to verify the choosed colors.
2) Frame of focused item in panel: Inactive Normal and Inactive Selected don't seem to function properly i.e. the frame of focused item in inactive panel and the frame of focused and selected item in inactive panel don't have the choosed colors.
Thanks in advance.
Configuration - Colors
Re: Configuration - Colors
Hot Items are the ones that are under the mouse cursor. You can find them in the panel's status bar, and in the paths above each panel (Information Line and Directory Line, respectively).Wilfried wrote:1) What are Hot items? I would like to find them to verify the choosed colors.
I agree, I don't see any effect of changing these two options.Wilfried wrote:2) Frame of focused item in panel: Inactive Normal and Inactive Selected don't seem to function properly i.e. the frame of focused item in inactive panel and the frame of focused and selected item in inactive panel don't have the choosed colors.

I agree, but are we both talking about the same options Inactive Normal and Inactive Selected? I can't even get Salamander to show a frame in the inactive panel, let alone changing its color.zarevak wrote:Focused item is the item the one with cursor rectangle over it.
Changing the color works for me - see the screenshot:

ether, you are right, I was talking about the active ones.
It took me a while to figure it out: The inactive colors are used when you are editing the command prompt under the panels. In the default configuration it uses gray dashes around the focused item. You can change the color of the dashes and the space between them by changing the Inactive Normal/Inactive Selected colors.
(One color is changed by Changing the "Text color", the second color is changed by changing the "Background color")
BTW: You can use Ctrl+Enter to quickly fill the focused item into the Command Prompt and enter the state, where this color setting is used.
