Actually
I don't care, as long as the features are good
But
No, the new logo is OK for me
And next one as good for me too
I wish there would be an other new logo

The new AND the old one!

Here's a suggestion to keep the new icon with the ability to customize the color

IMHO that's "
the best of both worlds".
I really like the new logo, BUT

Hi all,
I think the new logo is pretty and normaly I don't really care.
BUT this logo looks to much like MS Outlook in the taskbar, causing me to click on the wrong application all the time.
So I hope the logo can get another color or will be made available in another color.

The same is discussed in Czech in this thread:
Nové logo (prosba za starou ikonu)
You can found here even every color variants of original Manolis's icon.

I am sorry but we need only one color version of Servant Salamander logo. It's not just the icon, we have a lot of other logo-dependent graphics on many places (for example header of this forum

)
We really like the "warm" version that Manolis Gerasidis choosed.

It's not that you should change everything. Only the yellow icon inside SS.
My brain says: open Firefox
my brain says: search for a yellow icon
my eyes say: we found a yellow icon on desktop.
now my brain says: click on it
.... waiting ....
my eyes say: servant salamander?
my brain pushes a message to my mouth: "Scheiße"

I don't open SS using the desktop icon. Press start button and i see the salamander item
Though the SS icon colour is almost the same as the one used for BitComet.

I thought I was the only one who has been clicking on the wrong icon! I really agree with the idea that, while I don't mind the look of the new icon, the colour makes it very hard to locate. It just lacks contrast and distinction. If it is really too late to change the actual colour, perhaps its worth considering darkening the shade of the application icon... it won't reallly change the logo then for your t-shirts and things. Afterall, the application icon is already different to the main logo (it lacks the yellow and grey outline... I think removing this is also partly the reason why it doesn't stand out so much).
I do think colour distinction makes a big difference though. There is just so many icons using this same shade of orange colour ... Outlook is one. Firefox is close. UltraEdit, BitComet and the default folder icons too.
I personally really like the wine red shade variant that was posted here:

I think it really stands out from the current popular icon trends and gives it a really outstanding look. Of course, it is up to you guys and you may consider it being too late if you have mugs and printed a huge sign in front of your office already
