One of the great features of the user menu is that it is aware of selected/focused files/folders. This allows many awsome things to be done with the user menu bar...(I love this/these features.) But...Salamander fails to let go of the selected objects...they are locked. I work around this by always making sure that my focus is on the directory arrow or a file/folder I know I won't be using soon but it can be frustrating.

What does it mean that selected files are "locked" and "fails to go"?

I use User Menu commands without any problems. What commands are you using, when AS locks the file?

Check the unlocker http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ and look if its really salamander whos locking the files/folders.
