Not sure if this is the correct forum but would it be possible to add an "ignore file extension" check-box/feature to the folder comparison command?
Similar to post "Folder/File comparison":
When using SubVersion, .svn folders are created, which it's useful to ignore when performing folder comparisons. Please consider adding an "Ignore folders named xxxx" option, as well as the "Ignore file extensions" option mentioned in the previous post.
When drilling down on a folder that shows differences, you currently have to re-run the compare to see what is different for each subfolder. It would be more friendly if differences were automatically highlighed based on the last comparison run result.
Also, it's sometimes helpful to know whether files that are present in both folders have identical content or not, while ignoring any additional files that may be present. That is, compare only if the files are present in both folders.
Possibly, different colors could be used, e.g.
black = no difference at all
blue = no difference, but some files/folders present were in the ignore lists
orange = no difference in compared files, but some additional files were present
red = differences found in compared files
