Altap Salamander Support Forums

I love programs sitting in the tray, therefore I was very pleased to find an entry in the configuration dialog of Salamander, which allows me to minimize it into the tray. And this can also be done by a keyboard shortcut (Shift+ESC). Perfectly, was my first thought. But after a while, it annoyed me a little bit, because I had to click the Icon to get Salamander back to my screen. But I don't want to use my mouse, I want a keyboard shortcut. Use alt+tab*n

Use alt+tab*n

alt+tab does not work when you minimze Salamander into the tray (not the normal minimze into the task bar).

Try it out, at first go to
Options->Configuration...->Main Window
and set "Show Icon of Altap Slamander in Status Area of Taskbar"
Save the configuration and now, if you minimize Salamander, you are not able to bring it with alt+tab to front.

I vote 4 this.
I am using a ctl+alt+s hothey combination on a shortcut to AS.

There is only one drawback I already described in the forum and its a random 20s delay/hang of explorer before the program is launched.

I use the hotkey mostly for bringing salamander on top from tray as AS is running all the time. I have to say that this Windows bug is bugging me as hell.

So PLEASEEEEE, bring this easy programable feature with the next version! "Configurable shortcut/hotkey for opening AS from tray"

EDIT:
I am using Miranda as my ICQ client and ctrl+alt+m is a nice keyboard shortcut for opening new messages blinking in the tray. So if you need help, you can ask Miranda developers they know how to do it
