Batch renamer - batch input please

I am performing large data migrations and need to be able to rename many paths with a prefix. Is it possible to feed in a list of original pathnames, then feed in a list you would like to have them changed to?

i.e.
rename \\eurfiler1\apps \\eurfiler1\zzapps
rename \\eurfiler3\shared \\eurfiler3\zzshared
rename \\eurfiler6\public \\eurfiler6\zzpublic

I want to be able to perform this in one fell swoop with up to 200 pathnames.

Thanks! 8)

Yes, it is possible using Options > Rename Full Path.
It is possible to use the "Manual mode" option in the Renamer window.

But, I would recommend you to do it in two steps: copy(or move) your directory tree using Salamander. Then rename directories using Renamer.

The internal Salamander copy/move routine is more robust (transfer speed, speed limits, time estimation, ADS support, etc).

batch input to rename

Thanks for your prompt response.

I can only see one source path at a time though: when in Salamander, or in Batch Renamer.

In actual fact, I want to work with numerous source paths simultaneously. I just want to be able to paste in a series of source paths, then paste in a series of corresponding target paths. I don't want to copy however, I just want to rename each final child folder with a prefix.

If this is possible, can you send a screen shot of how I enter numerous source paths?

A million thanks.

I'm sorry, I see it now. It is not possible with Salamander.

I would use shell (for example from CYGWIN) for such task.

Could you consider this as a feature request?

I am currently using this program on evaluation but would definitely consider purchasing multiple licenses if this was an available feature
