After pressing F2 on a file name in RC2 the complete string was highlighted. In RC3 and final 2.5 the string is highlighted only to the first dot.

Renaming directory names with dots works fine.

Please look at new option:
Options > Configuration > General > Select whole name (including extension) in Quick Rename
